We were informed this morning that the payment of pensions today (10) is problematic. Also, while announcing the cabinet decisions, Minister Bandhula Gunawardena stated that the treasury is currently facing a severe financial crisis.
According to him, the tax money is not enough even if the public is burdened with such a tax burden. According to him, there is no income to pay government employee salaries, pay pensions, pay interest on government loans and also bear welfare costs. Therefore, it has been decided to cut 5% of the expenditure from all ministries.
It was also mentioned that the Samurdhi relief in January may be delayed by a week or two.
Minister Bandhula Gunawardena has also been in Parliament since 1989. It was not the poor people who ruled this country without them. There should be a maximum of 6.5 lakh government employees in this country. The number of civil servants that should be one in 300 is now one in 12. There are nearly 20 lakh government employees. This situation occurs after 1994. It is the recruitment of civil servants as needed for governance.
Since 1994, this economic destruction as well as the destruction of agriculture has been written. The Sri Lanka Freedom Party and all its members have been serving the country since 1994. There is no difference between Chandrika, Mahinda, Maithri and Bandula. They took over this country in 1994. Mahinda Rajapaksa presents the corrupt and ignorant philosophy of transferring the people to banks and the country to foreign banks, which has been falling into the abyss since 1994. Even the garment factories in this country were closed during the Mahinda Rajapaksa era. The people who served as ministers in that era are still in office.
They have neither the vision nor the knowledge to contemplate them now or to revive the old ways. So this is going to a massive destruction. The ruling class of this country has no need to stop it. They are still working only to protect their political power by going after the poor poor.
