It is reported that an accident took place in the morning today (28) between Kottawa and Athurugiri highway near the 03 km post, another lorry came behind a lorry.
According to reports, the driver of the lorry that came behind the accident and a woman were injured and died on the way to Homagama Base Hospital.
She had boarded this lorry near the Kaduwela expressway entrance to Embilipitiya and while traveling from Kaduwela towards Kottawa, the accident occurred when the lorry collided with the back of another lorry which was parked due to a mechanical fault near the 03 kilometer post of Athurugiri.
A 39-year-old woman resident of Ambilipitiya, Sevanagala, Kovularara area died in the accident.
