KEHELIYA RAMBUKWELLA WILL RESIGN AS MINISTER IF MONEY IS NOT PAID FOR MEDICINE.

It is reported that Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella announced today (22nd) in Parliament that he will resign from his ministerial position if he does not receive the necessary funds for the purchase of anesthetic drugs in two hospitals.

The minister who commented further in this regard,

“I regret to say at this time that we have been affected by some of the decisions taken by the court. The other reason is the financial issue that has arisen. If it is not possible to deal with this issue, I will inform this assembly about it. Because I have decided that as the minister, there is no further such deficiency. If you can’t fix it, don’t work as a minister anymore. I don’t expect to hold positions because it is a big shortcoming to the society and this service. No matter what the reasons are, we have to accept the responsibility for those shortfalls.”
