Yesterday (11) more than 100,000 unusable eggs were found in Vallapaluva Reserve in Mahakumbukkada and the Trade Minister had informed the police to investigate the incident.
The complaint was submitted by the Consumer Authority and it is reported that the Puttalam District Consumer Service Authority stated that the egg stock was released due to spoilage of eggs piled up to be sold at higher prices by large-scale egg producers.
