Indian health authorities have revealed that two patients have died in the state of Kerala who were infected with the deadly Nipah virus.
Indian media reported that several patients, including another small child, who were confirmed to be infected with the virus, are being treated in isolation.
According to foreign media reports, more than 700 people who had close contact with Nipah virus infected people have been tested and it has not been confirmed whether they are infected so far.
Several schools have also been closed in the state of Kerala and public transport services and office work have been temporarily suspended, media reports have confirmed.
