A fisherman in a fishing vessel suddenly fell ill in the sea area about 47 nautical miles northeast of Trincomalee Foul Point.
After that, the Navy immediately took him to land and referred him for treatment.
It is reported that a fisherman who was on a fishing vessel called ‘Manuki’, who was out of Trincomalee Kodbe fishing port for fishing activities on August 8th along with six fishermen, suddenly fell ill.
Based on an information received by the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center located at the Navy Headquarters, the relevant person was rescued.
The fisherman was then referred to the Trincomalee Hospital for further treatment.
