Foreign media reports that the death toll from the earthquake in Gaziantep, Turkey’s southeast near the Syrian border is over 500.
It is also reported that this may be the biggest earthquake that has happened in Turkey so far, and among the dead people are Turkish people as well as Syrian people.
About 40 aftershocks have occurred after this 7.8 magnitude earthquake. Also, foreign media have reported that the dead bodies are increasing from moment to moment.
Ten cities were affected by the earthquake, including Gaziantep, Kahramanmaras, Hatay, Osmaniye, Adiyaman, Malatya, Sanliurfa, Adana, Diyarbakir and Kilis.
The earthquake occurred at 04:17 pm local time (01:17 GMT) near the city of Gaziantep at a depth of 17.9 kilometers (11 miles).
