Most of the leprosy cases last year were from the Western Province

Last year, 1,325 leprosy cases were reported in Sri Lanka and 40% of those cases were reported from the Western Province, according to the Leprosy Control Campaign.

They also state that 50% of the patients reported from the Western Province are from the Colombo district. Most of the patients are reported to be children under 15 years of age.
