The Saliyawewa Police have stated that a person was injured when the car in which Member of Parliament Mr. Ali Sabri Rahim was traveling was involved in an accident.
It is reported that the accident took place today (13th) at around 1.00 am in the area of post 15 of the Puttalam – Anuradhapura road.
One HM Harshana Pradeep, a resident of Upper Puliyankulam – Aluthgama, was injured in the accident.
It is said that the injured person has been admitted to Puttalam Base Hospital for treatment.
The MP was traveling from Puttalam towards Anuradhapura and the accident occurred when the MP’s car collided with the back of a tractor which was running in the same direction.
Police say that the person who got injured is the person who was driving the tractor.
Saliyawewa police have arrested the driver of the car in which the MP was traveling in connection with the accident.
Saliyawewa Police is conducting further investigations.
