It is reported that power plant manager Mr. Nalaka Wijekoon stated that 23 ships carrying coal have arrived at Norochchola Lakwijaya Power Plant and the 23rd ship is unloading coal these days.
Mr. Nalaka Wijekoon further mentioned that there is a stockpile of nearly 380,000 metric tons of coal for power generation.
It is reported that these days, ships carrying coal can be seen in large numbers in the Ilanthadia land area, and coal is being unloaded daily from these ships and the coal that is unloaded is brought to the Lakvijaya power plant by buckets.
