SriLankan Airlines has reportedly extended the bidding period to select a suitable investor for its restructuring plan.
Accordingly, the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation Services Nimal Siripala de Silva has said that the call for bids, which was scheduled to be held today, will have to be postponed by 45 days.
In the meantime, the minister has also said that the government has received the approval of the cabinet to take over the debt amount of 510 million dollars to be settled by Srilankan Airlines.
