OIL UNION LEADERS GO ON COMPULSORY LEAVE.

The Ceylon Petroleum Statutory Corporation issued a statement saying that the management decided to take compulsory leave of the trade union leaders and the employees who supported it by obstructing the fuel distribution activities and putting pressure on the employees who were engaged in the fuel distribution activities. It is also stated in the announcement that Ceylon Petroleum Warehouse Terminal Service Premises and Ceylon Petroleum Statutory Corporation premises have been made prohibited zones for them.

The announcement issued by the Ceylon Petroleum Statutory Corporation further states that services will be continued through all other officers reporting to the service.

According to reports, the Minister of Power and Energy Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera said that today (29) at 6:00 AM, the distribution of fuel to the areas of Muthurajawela and Kolonnawa has started. The minister further stated.
