It is reported that the speaker decided to suspend the parliamentary proceedings for 10 minutes which started this morning (23rd).
It was according to a request made by the MPs of all the opposition parties.
The House has been adjourned to hold a special meeting of party leaders to discuss the bill on security of online systems, which was scheduled to be held today.
It was also reported that opposition leader Sajith Premadasa met Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena with the opposition party leaders this morning.
The meeting took place in the Speaker’s office, where the bill on security of online systems was discussed.
