A senior officer of the Sri Lanka Civil Aviation Authority has announced that 42 pilots belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force have handed over letters of resignation and another 85 have applied for certification letters from the Aviation Authority.
It has been stated that the monthly salary gap between international airlines and Sri Lanka Airlines is between 20,000 and 30,000 dollars and the dollar is calculated as 370 rupees, exempt from all taxes, when giving him salary from international airlines. It has also been stated that Sri Lanka Airlines calculates the dollar as 225 rupees.
It is also reported that from December 2022, the dollar will be calculated at 295 rupees.
A senior official of the company has said that if about 80 pilots resign from the Sri Lankan Airlines, the Sri Lankan Airlines will be in a severe crisis at the end of this year.
