POHOTTUWA ASKS FOR PROTECTION FOR THE MAY RALLY.

Pothottu May Rally at Campbell Field is asking for special security.

Parliamentarian SM Chandrasena says that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna will provide special security for the May Day rally planned to be held at Campbell Field on the occasion of World Workers’ Day and has requested the Inspector General of Police in this regard. He urged the patrons to participate.

The reason for requesting special security for the May Day rally is that the members and supporters of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna have shown some reluctance to participate in the May Day rally this year. Due to the violent acts that occurred with the Galimudaora May attack on May 9 last year, even the local level leaders of the Podujana Peramuna There was severe persecution and they were subjected to various attacks. Due to this situation, the organizers of the constituency have informed the party leadership that the people who usually come for the party’s parades are afraid to come for the May Day rally this year and have also requested that special arrangements be made to ensure their safety.

Party sources said that a discussion related to holding the party’s May Day rally and calling as many party members as possible to Campbell Field will be held today (27) under the chairmanship of party founder Mr. Basil Rajapaksa at Battaramulla Nelum Mawatha office.
