Mr. Janaka Ravindra Kalupahana, the Basnayaka of the small Kataragama temple in Soragune, has been suspended from his work and investigations have been started due to fraud, corruption and irregularities in the temple. Accordingly, the temple has police protection at present.
Also, we have noticed that the “Flag of King Ravana” and an old sword found in the very old temple are also missing. However, the Basnayaka Nilameywarya has not yet taken steps to hand over the key and valuable documents of the temple and he is scheduled to escape from Sri Lanka tomorrow (2) night.
It is also being reported that in 20 years, the commissioner generals of Buddhist affairs have not inspected the temple’s ornaments as well as the catalog. Accordingly, we have received information that he will leave the country tomorrow without handing over any items belonging to the catalog that have not been checked. The Commissioner of Buddhist Affairs – Ratnapura has also submitted a complaint to the Haldummulla Police Station.
We inquired about this complaint from the Haldummulla Police and a statement said that “the senior officers of the police informed the Commissioner of Buddhist Affairs to consider it as a civil matter and resolve it through the courts”. Also, when we questioned again about how it is a civil matter, we were informed to ask about it from the Superintendent of Police in charge of the area. We accordingly made a call to the number they gave us which is 0718591525 but no one connected with that call.
Accordingly, it appears that the police officers or some forces are acting in such a way that he can escape the country. If he has not handed over the key to investigate the incident, if he has fled the area, it is not a civil matter. According to him, a case should be filed under the Criminal Procedure Code and it is the duty of the police to get a court order prohibiting him from leaving the country. Accordingly, articles 112, 162, 172, 173, 174, 177, 181, 183, 184, 185, 198, 203, 214, 290, 209 a, 330, 331, 370, 386, 388, 392 etc. of the Ceylon Penal Code. He can be sued in many ways. It is only due to non-delivery of key and other items. We are also reporting that he is going to leave the country because we have received the necessary information for that as well. Therefore, the authorities of Haldummulla Police Station or the police authorities who are working to rescue him should now read the Ceylon Penal Code carefully and proceed immediately to arrest him. Without that, if they wait to support him, we will lose the “Ravana Country Flag” which is the most valuable factor in another Sri Lankan history. The Haldummulla Police Station Commander and the Assistant Superintendent of Police in charge of the area should be responsible for it
Sri Ravana Sri Lanka National Organization went undercover and collected all the frauds can be seen in the video below. In addition, all information can be viewed through the links below.
