It is reported that 15,000 liters of water bottles have been donated by the Red Cross Society to the people of Galle and Matara districts affected by the floods.
The Ministry of Defense has announced that the water bottles have been handed over to the Minister of State for Defense Pramitha Bandara Thennakone at the Ministry of Disaster Management.
At present, it is reported that many wells and drinking water sources in those districts have been contaminated with the flood situation.
The announcement further stated that the Minister has made a request to the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society to submit an appeal to get the attention of the Red Cross International to provide relief to the affected people.
