Repayment of loans is a relief in Bangladesh.

In the year 2021, Bangladesh provided a loan amount of US$ 200 million to Sri Lanka under the foreign exchange system and an additional 6 months was given to pay the loan amount. Bangladesh Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Abdul Momen stated that due to the economic crisis that Sri Lanka is currently facing, additional time has been requested to pay the loan amount and accordingly the Bangladesh government has decided to extend the loan until the month of September. He also stated that this is the last period that can be given to pay this loan amount.
