It is reported that Sajith Premadasa, the leader of Samagi Janabalawega, has decided not to participate in the Independence Day celebrations to be held tomorrow (4). Tissa Attanayake, the organizer of the Samagi Jana Balawega MP, stated that it is not appropriate to spend a huge amount of money to hold such a ceremony while the country is facing such a crisis.
It is reported that the Tamil National Organization and the Catholic Church of Sri Lanka have also informed that they will not participate in the Independence Day celebrations.
