It is reported that a suspect who was arrested on the charge of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old daughter has escaped from custody and the Kattankudiya police have started investigation to find him.
The suspect was taken to the house of the Acting Magistrate in Batticaloa on the 24th and after the Magistrate ordered him to be remanded until the 28th, it is said that the suspect fled when he went to hand him over to the prison officials.
