SHOOTING AT A PARTY WHERE MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT WERE PRESENT

The Nuwara Eliya Police have started an extensive investigation regarding a shooting that took place during a night party held at Senpati Madura in Nuwara Eliya with the participation of a group of 30 people who came with three members of Parliament.

The shooting took place on January 28. But the manager of Senpati Madura has come to the Nuwara Eliya Police Station and complained about this on Friday.

The manager of Senpati Madura told the police that after informing the Secretary General of the Parliament about this, he came to complain to the police on his instructions. Here, he has also presented two empty ammunition cases of 9 mm type to the police.

The manager of the Senpati Madura has told the police that a group of 30 people including Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Party Members of Parliament Gayashan Navanandana, Nimal Piyathissa and Milan Jayathilaka were staying at the Senpati Madura last January 28.

The manager also told the police that they had a party here that night.

He also told the police that he heard two gunshot-like sounds during the party. The manager also told the police that two 9 mm empty ammunition casings were found at the place after the party was over.
