It is reported that the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing announced that it will take steps to develop Sigiriya as a tourist area under 9 sub-projects.
This project is implemented under the loan assistance of 15 million dollars from the Asian Development Bank.
In relation to this, the preliminary planning is being done these days and it is said that Sigiriya and its surrounding areas are to be developed as an eco-friendly tourist zone without the use of plastic.
