It is reported that the 15 people who were arrested in an incident of assaulting two officers of the Police Traffic Division who were on duty in the Halawata – Thoduwawa area have been remanded until the 31st of this month.
That was after the suspects were presented to the Marawila Magistrate’s Court.
While on duty, a motorcycle traveling on the road was informed by the police to stop for inspection, but it continued to drive and collided with an electric pole and an accident occurred.
After that incident, the locals attacked the two police officers on the charge of endangering the motorcycle.
