THE ELECTION COMMISSION WILL MEET AGAIN NEXT WEEK.

It is reported that the Election Commission is scheduled to meet again next week to decide on the next steps to be taken regarding the holding of the local government election.

Although the local government postal vote marking activities were planned for today (28), it has been postponed indefinitely.

However, the Election Commission has requested Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena to give an opportunity to discuss the local government elections.

Accordingly, the Chairman of the Election Commission Mr. Nimal G. Punchihewa stated that the commission is scheduled to meet again on the 4th.
