A news has been reported from Kandy area that a student who recorded an excellent result with A9 in this year’s general examination was set on fire.
A student studying in a school in the Kandy area was burnt with kerosene and seriously injured and admitted to the Kandy National Hospital.
The police stated that this student is a resident of Ampitiya – Pallegama area.
The police said that the child was returning home with his father after telling his grandmother about his exam results, when a group of people spread kerosene and started the fire.
The police suspect that this act was carried out by a group involved in various abuses in the Ampitiya area.
However, the police have started investigations to find the people involved in this incident.
