It is reported that the health unions, which were on strike based on the issue of allowances, are scheduled to hold a discussion with the Minister of Health Dr. Ramesh Pathirana today (19).
The Alliance of Health Trade Unions has said that the relevant discussion will be held today at 10.00 am.
Recently, 72 trade unions belonging to various professions in the health service went on strike protesting the increase in allowances only for doctors and they temporarily suspended the strike on the written promise of a discussion with the Minister of Health.
Ravi Kumudesh, co-convener of the Alliance of Health Trade Unions, has said that in the discussion with the Minister of Health, Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, if no solution to their problems is found, they will go on strike again.
They temporarily suspended the strike based on a written promise to hold a discussion with the minister.
