The first step in balancing the public service will be taken tomorrow.

The recommendations of the committee appointed to maintain the public service in Sri Lanka in a balanced manner are currently to be submitted to the Cabinet.
A committee chaired by the Prime Minister’s Secretary was recently appointed to take decisions for maintaining the public service in a balanced manner in view of the retirement of public servants who reach the age of 60.
Accordingly, this committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of looking into the vacancies arising from the public servants who are going to retire from tomorrow (31), the last day of this year, and giving related recommendations.
If there are limited recruitments required for those vacancies, the recommendations for those recruitments should be handed over to the Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena by the relevant committee and then submitted to the Council of Ministers.
