The third session of the Ninth Parliament was started by President Ranil Wickramasinghe who was appointed on the 3rd of August last year and the session ended on the 27th of January last year.
Accordingly, it is reported that President Ranil Wickramasinghe will begin the fourth session of the Ninth Parliament at 10 am today. The government’s policy statement is to be presented and Parliament will be adjourned after the President’s speech, according to Mr. Vetradhari Narendra Fernando.
Minister Tissa Attanayake also stated that Samagi Jana Balawegaya, which represents the opposition, will not participate in today’s session of the Assembly to protest the organization of an event by spending public money.
