It is reported that a group of local residents of Wadduwa Morontuduwa managed to rescue a 13-foot long crocodile without any accident while it was in a tributary of the Bolgoda River by swallowing a cabled bait.
It is reported that Kibula, who was saved in this way, was first taken out of the river with the villagers and tied very safely, then a young man named Sanjeeva from the station put his hand into Kibula’s mouth and after about 30 minutes of effort, he took the cable very carefully so that the animal would not be harmed.
