President Ranil Wickramasinghe says that if Sri Lanka is to move forward, a major modernization must take place.
The President has said that a country experienced in war does not want to stand aside and must fulfill our responsibility in the Red Sea.
The President mentioned this while attending the Air Force Cadets Dispersal Parade which was held at night for the first time in history as the chief guest.
It was held at China Port Sri Lanka Air Force Academy.
The President who further commented there,
“If we want to move forward, there must be a major modernization of the country. We must protect the stability of our region. If there is a danger to peace and stability, it is a danger to our country. We don’t all live in the world alone.”
“A country like Sri Lanka, which is experienced in war, should not stand aside. If we do that, we will not fulfill our duty.”
“Today, if our economic rights are harmed in the Red Sea, we are committed to protect them. We have to prepare for the future as well.”
