The authority has canceled the gazette notice issued on the 3rd of this month and forwarded the new gazette notice to the government press today (21) afternoon, according to which sugar will be sold at a price based on the cost to be borne by importers of sugar who will be importing sugar in the future under the new tax of 50 rupees. Also, according to the gazette announcement, a maximum retail price of 275 rupees per kg of unpacked white sugar and 330 rupees per kg of red sugar, and a maximum retail price of 295 rupees per kg of packed white sugar and 350 rupees per kg of red sugar were imposed. A senior officer of the Authority further stated that it has been calculated that there are about 18,000 metric tons of imported sugar in the country at the tax of 25 cents, and that the seizure of the stock is being carried out under the Ministry of Trade.
