It is reported that the police have decided to take the assistance of the army from today (11) for crime and drug control operations.
Police Media Spokesman DIG Advocate Mr. Nihal Talduwa said that relevant instructions have been given to all police stations.
“Operations should be implemented from today. If there is any shortage of police officers, if there are not enough officers for those raids, especially if things like roadblocks have to be implemented, and if there is a need to arrest serious criminals, the army will coordinate with the senior DIGs and DIGs in charge of that province, and make it easy to summon them. Preparation of a system has already been done. According to that, the Inspector General of Police gave the necessary instructions to get military support if necessary.”
