TWO OTHERS WHO THREATENED PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED.


It is reported that two more persons have been arrested in connection with the extortion of ex-Chairman of Sri Lanka Public Utility Commission Mr. Janaka Ratnayake.

According to a complaint filed by Mr. Janaka Rathnayake, the former chairman of the Public Utility Commission, to the Kirulapana Police regarding a death threat over the phone and the extortion of 15 lakhs by force, the Colombo Crime Division conducted an investigation and according to that, two suspects who provided residential facilities and aided the main suspect in the incident to hide in Dambulla Palweherambula.  They have been arrested in the area.

The arrested suspects are 38 and 40 years old.

  The Colombo Crime Division is conducting further investigations into the incident.
