It is reported that the railway department has canceled all the seat reservations of the passengers who reserved seats to travel on the Colombo Fort-Badulla Udara Manike train, where there is a traffic jam on the 20th, and reserved all those seats for a group of tourists.
According to reports, passengers who had reserved seats up to Badulla were given back their tickets but the fares from Badulla to Colombo were not refunded. It is also said that this train ran empty from Kandy to Badulla. It is unfortunate that there is no competent authority to stand up for the injustices done to the passengers in such a situation.
