It is reported that the transmission work of the 220 kilowatt high voltage power line between Polpitiya – Hambantota is scheduled to start from today (24).
The Ceylon Electricity Board said it was delayed due to a land issue.
It is a 150 km transmission system.
The Ceylon Electricity Board has further stated that it will be able to provide uninterrupted electricity to the Southern Province.
