The launch of the Indian Integrated Payment Program was held in Colombo today.
Accordingly, President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have joined the occasion of connecting the UPI Indian payment process with Sri Lanka’s QR payment system through video technology.
It is said that Indian tourists coming to Sri Lanka through this method can also connect to the UPI India payment process through the digital method through the QR code.
It is stated that the implementation of this payment method in 10,000 shops was done simultaneously to spread this program rapidly.
By March 2024, the number of these stores will be increased to 65,000.
