A state of emergency has been declared after a series of strong earthquakes hit Iceland’s southwest Reykjans peninsula due to the high risk of a volcanic eruption in the region.
Foreign reports said that around 4,000 people have been evacuated from the vulnerable village of Grindavik.
Foreign reports have stated that about 1,400 earthquakes have occurred in the last 24 hours at a distance of nearly two miles from that village.
