A total of 577 individuals and 18 organizations were blacklisted in 2021 for financing terrorism under the UN’s series of regulations, of which several organizations were recently removed.
With everyone’s attention on this matter, senior journalist Mr. Chamuditha Samarawickrama held a discussion with Mr. Nimalan Viswanathan, head of the Tamil Diaspora.
It is now a well-known secret that the Diaspora funded the 30-year war that people suffered from.
Another fact that came out with this is that the diaspora spent the Gallumuvadora struggle, Nimalan Viswanathan pointed out, and he further stated that money was taken from countries like Dubai and Qatar for the struggle and he even has all the account details related to it.
He very lightly stated that the Rajapaksa generation hides and protects the great tiger while calling other people tigers and slandering them.
He has also pointed out here that the organizations were released according to the demands made by the diaspora and the government promised to release 50 more terrorist prisoners.
He also stated that it is the hope of the diaspora to keep Ranil Wickremesinghe in the presidential seat even after two and a half years.
