Two women involved in an assault incident have been arrested by the police in connection with an assault that took place during a car accident in Kollupitiya police domain.
These two women were arrested in Bambalapitiya area and they are 42 and 64 years old and are residents of Wellawatta and Ellakkala areas.
These two women are employees of a private company that provides personal security services and the incident was caused by an accident between a car and a three-wheeler.
The accident occurred yesterday (10) when a car traveling from Bambalapitiya towards Gallumuwadora collided with the rear of a three-wheeler traveling in the same direction.
The driver of the three-wheeler, who was seriously injured in the accident, died after being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
Meanwhile, after the accident, the driver of the car ran away and two other women assaulted a woman who was riding behind the car.
However, investigations have been started using CCTV and video footage to identify the main suspect in this incident.
