The Department of Meteorology has predicted that there may be occasional rain or thundershowers in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western and Northern provinces and Galle and Matara districts, and heavy rains of more than 75 mm may occur in some places.
The announcement also states that there may be rain or thundershowers in the rest of the island in the evening or at night.
The Department of Meteorology kindly requests the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
