A landslide was reported on the 98th km lower Kadugannawa road on the Colombo-Kandy main road recently.
The National Building Research Organization and the Road Development Authority are currently conducting a field inspection and taking necessary steps to ensure road safety. .
The Sri Lanka Police and the Road Development Authority have instructed to use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
The Director General also said that necessary guidelines will be issued regarding the use of the road in the event of adverse weather conditions and that steps will be taken in the future to implement permanent solutions required to further ensure the safety of the road as per the instructions of the National Building Research Organization. .
