The body of a woman with her hands and feet tied in a suitcase was found in a rubbish heap near Sapugaskanda Mabima Road today (04).
According to the police, the woman is between the ages of 35 and 40.
The identity of the deceased woman has not been confirmed yet and the luggage containing the body was found wrapped in a mat.
Police say the dead woman was dressed in a black and red dress with her limbs tied.
The body was found after a person informed the Sapugaskanda Police that he had a suspicious luggage.
The body was severely decomposed and it is suspected that the woman had died five days earlier.
Accordingly, Mahara Acting Magistrate Ramani Siriwardena visited the scene this afternoon and the body was taken to the Ragama Teaching Hospital for an autopsy.
