NADUNGAMUWE RAJA ELEPHANT KING ARRIVES IN KANDY TODAY. (With video)

The Nedungamuwe Raja Elephant King, who is revered and loved by the Sri Lankan Buddhist community, is due to arrive in Kandy today. The elephant king who arrived at the Pilimatalawa Urapola temple from the ancient Malwathu temple in Himbula Mawenella  yesterday with state security is currently on his way to Kandy. “Despite the threat of Corona and heavy rains, thousands of city dwellers are still gathering on both sides of the road to see this elephant king,” our city staff correspondent said. The Elephant King is currently passing through the Kiribathkumbura area amid tight security by the Police and the Special Task Force. The Tooth Relic will be worshiped this evening, the correspondent said.
