People’s Bank of Sri Lanka has been defaced by the Chinese Embassy, reports say.
It is said that the Chinese embassy has taken this step due to the attack on the payment for a letter of credit issued by the People’s Bank to a Chinese company. The Chinese Embassy has instructed all entrepreneurs to refrain from accepting letters of credit issued by the People’s Bank.
In addition, the Colombo Commercial High Court has issued an injunction restraining People’s Bank from issuing letters of credit.
