RISHAD RELEASED ON BAIL

The Fort Magistrate has ordered the release of Rishad Bathiudeen, a remanded MP, on two sureties of Rs. 5 million each and on condition that he appear before the CID every two weeks.

He was also banned from traveling abroad and his passport was taken into custody.

He was remanded in custody by the CID for more than six months for questioning over the Easter bombing, and was charged with the murder of Ishalini, a maid at his home.

However, he was released on bail today on the orders of Fort Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage.
