The sluice gates of the Canyon and Upper Kotmale reservoirs have been opened due to heavy rainfall in the country.
The Disaster Management Center stated that two sluice gates of the Canyon Reservoir and one sluice gate of the Upper Kotmale Reservoir have been opened.
It is also reported that the canyon, Laxapana, New Laxapana, Polpitiya and Wimalasurendra power plants are generating electricity at maximum capacity as the level of reservoirs associated with hydro power plants has also increased.
