Talks between two countries conducted over the phone

Foreign media have reported that there was a discussion between the US and Russian defense secretaries over the phone yesterday (21).
The current military situation in Ukraine and international security have been discussed here.
It is also reported that another telephone discussion took place between them last May.
In that discussion, the US Secretary of Defense asked Russia for a ceasefire, but the foreign media also stated that no such request was made in this discussion.
