The commencement of schools will be carried out in four phases and the first phase will commence 3800 schools with less than 200 children island wide from tomorrow (20).
Accordingly, the Ministry of Education stated that under the first phase, primary sections will be opened in schools with less than 200 children from grade 01 to grade 05.
Prof. Kapila Perera, Secretary to the Ministry of Education says that in the second phase, the total number of students in grades 1-5 in schools with more than 200 children and in schools with less than 100 children will be opened in grades 10, 11, 12 and 13 in the third phase and in all schools in the final phase. That all series openings occur.
However, he added that the progress made in the first phase will determine whether the rest of the phase will be operational or not.
