The Government of Sri Lanka has entered into a US $ 500 million financial agreement with the World Bank to strengthen Sri Lanka’s agricultural supply chain.
The relevant agreement was signed today (03).
The agreement was signed by World Bank Vice President for South Asia Hartwick Shopper and Secretary to the Ministry of Finance SR Attygalle today, with the participation of Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa.
The agreement will benefit 16 million people in selected districts and will also provide funds for a 100,000 km rural development project to be implemented by the Sri Lankan government.
