THE UNIONS ARE REQUESTING PERMISSION TO START THE TRAIN SERVICE

The Railway Trade Union Alliance has requested permission to start the train service.

In a statement, General Secretary ST Vithanage said that both the public and private sector employees have been severely inconvenienced due to the non-commencement of trains.

They point out that it is problematic not to start the railway service only when all sections of the country are open and they have requested that immediate action be taken to start the railway service in accordance with the existing health care guidelines.
